Last October, astronomers and physicists were legitimately stunned by the emergence of an interplanetary object unlike anything previously seen or even hypothesized. What they originally believed to be a comet or an asteroid turned out to have the properties of both along with completely unique features. Geologically described as an inside-out comet, its most shocking characteristic was its size: 10 times longer than its widest point, the object looked like a giant cigar.
Before the scientific community could make any coordinated effort to study the object, dubbed “Oumuamua” (meaning: “a messenger that reaches out from the distant past” in Hawaiian), had zipped past Earth in an accelerating, elliptical orbit that also defied expectations. A year later, scientists are still debating what exactly “Oumuamua” is and only one thing is certain: It’s the first observed object that we know for certain came from outside our solar system. By definition, it’s alien.
CNN recently reported on a theory positing “Oumuamua” is actually a spacecraft, or at least a part of one (specifically, a solar sail):
A new paper by researchers at the Harvard Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics raises the possibility that the elongated dark-red object, which is 10 times as long as it is wide and traveling at speeds of 196,000 mph, might have an “artificial origin.”
“Oumuamua may be a fully operational probe sent intentionally to Earth vicinity by an alien civilization,” they wrote in the paper, which has been submitted to the Astrophysical Journal Letters.
Almost as though in response to CNN’s report, a video emerged on the internet late yesterday afternoon that’s completely jaw-dropping. It seems to prove, unequivocally, that “Oumuamua” is an extraterrestrial vehicle. Have a look:
The suspected alien probe, nicknamed ‘Oumuamua’, was caught on video close-up by an alleged secret spy satellite launched to investigate the mysterious object. Closer visual inspection confirms points of bright light evenly distributed across the object’s rocky surface, suggesting an artificial vehicle is disguised underneath the mock asteroid. No space agency has claimed responsibility for the video.
Full disclosure: What you’ve just seen is a narrative work by Aristomenis Tsirbas. Produced by MeniThings, the studio behind the ultra-realistic Project Blue Book “Alien Interviews” that caused quite a stir in 2016. It’s nonetheless a stunning bit of FX-work that had me pressing replay about a dozen times. Whether this footage ties into the fate of EBE-3 remains uncertain at this point.
