Christopher Shy, the artist who did the ridiculous posters for Mandy and Godzilla, has created the art for first time director Antonio Pantoja‘s indie One Must Fall. Bloody Disgusting has the exclusive, along with the film’s absurdly violent first trailer.
While the trailer is plain vicious, the film is described as a 1980s-set horror-comedy slasher about a woman wrongfully fired from her office job and forced to take on a temporary job on a crime scene cleanup crew.
We’ve profiled artist Christopher Shy‘s watercolor-style movie posters several times here on BD, and that’s simply because he continues to blow our minds with his jaw-dropping art. There is truly nobody who does movie poster art quite like Shy does; he’s the guy who whipped up that Godzilla: King of the Monsters SDCC art, easily this year’s best poster.
On a Godzilla-related note, Shy has just completed a wave of Kaiju movie posters, including ones for Godzilla vs. Mechagodzilla, Shin Godzilla and War of the Gargantuas!
Currently available through Shy’s Art of Ronin online shop, you can grab two different versions of Godzilla vs. Mechagodzilla, the Godzilla vs. King Ghidorah art from the aforementioned Godzilla: King of the Monsters poster, and Shy’s poster for Shin Godzilla. From what we understand, the War of the Gargantuas artwork will also be available soon.
Tom Botchii’s upcoming comic-book obsessed serial killer film, Artik, has received a brand new poster (and variant) from acclaimed artist Christopher Shy. The story centers around a family-run sunflower farm, where comic-book obsessed serial killer Artik, his life partner Flin, and their family of foster kids are on the hunt for the ultimate comic-book hero. Until Holton, […]
Acclaimed fantasy and sci-fi artist Christopher Shy is doing some pretty amazing work in the realm of film promotion these days. From that stunning Mandy poster to this newly released one sheet for the upcoming sci-fi thriller, Prospect, I predict we’ll be seeing more from him real soon.
The exclusive Regal art print was made for Prospect fans an will even be available to order through Regal’s site on October 29.
“A teenage girl and her father travel to a remote alien moon, aiming to strike it rich. But there are others roving the wilderness and a job quickly devolves into a fight to survive. Forced to contend not only with the forest’s other ruthless inhabitants, but with her own father’s greed-addled judgment, the girl finds she must carve her own path to escape.”
Prospect is the first feature-length film distributed by Gunpowder & Sky’s new sci-fi label DUST. It is directed by Zeek Earl and Christopher Caldwell and stars Sophie Thatcher, Pedro Pascal, Jay Duplass, Andre Royo, Sheila Vand and Anwan Glover.
The film sees release in theaters on November 2 and everywhere else November 9. Check out the film’s official website for local show listings and advanced tickets for the film in the meantime.
First Mandy and now this – Shy is becoming one of my favorite modern poster artists for sure. Now just imagine this beauty on your wall.
