[The Game Awards 2018] ‘Devil May Cry V’ Gets Xbox One-Exclusive Demo, New Trailer And More

Dante and company will be available for an exclusive demo starting today on Xbox One.

As revealed last night at The Game Awards (along with a brand new trailer), Capcom’s Devil May Cry V will have a downloadable demo featuring Nero on the streets of Red Grave City. The demo is exclusive to Xbox One for the time being, so PlayStation 4 owners (and PC gamers) will have to wait.

In addition, Capcom also revealed some multiplayer details, as well as the returning Bloody Palace Mode. Coming to the game as a free update shortly after launch, Bloody Palace Mode is an elimination-style mode that puts the player up against hordes of fast-approaching enemies and bosses until they reach the end. As for the multiplayer portion, there’s the new Cameo System. While online, players can jump into other players’ games as they battle demons around Red Grave City to assist. Host players can then rate the other’s cameo in-game (if they’re feeling generous).

Finally, there’s the new trailer, which sheds some light on the mysterious V character we’ve seen alongside Dante and Nero. Unlike the flashy and brash styles of the two veterans, V can summon three different demons to assist in battle: Shadow, a panther-like creature that changes his shape for close-range attacks, Griffon, a bird demon that can not only carry V across the map, but also rain lightning bolts, and Nightmare, a gigantic demon that packs hard hits that can also fire beams of light to destroy any approaching foes.

I don’t know about you, but between Capcom’s Resident Evil 2 remake and Devil May Cry V, there’s going to be some tough choices to devote your playing time to next year.

Devil May Cry V launches on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC on March 8th, 2019.
