Watch the Notorious House From ‘The Amityville Horror’ Get Recreated in ‘Far Cry 5’.

Far Cry 5‘s level editing tool has helped shape some fantastic homages to other games, and of course, movies. Recreations of horror sets, buildings and the like have emerged since the game’s release earlier this year, including tributes to The Evil Dead‘s cabin, Jurassic Park, and Resident Evil 2‘s Raccoon City.

The latest recreation comes from Reddit user duncsmaps and he’s shown how he made the notorious house that is the inspiration for The Amityville Horror.

He posted an image of his work on Reddit, created in the PS4 version of Far Cry 5, and linked to a video of him making the house bit by bit with a short explanation.

”For those wondering, this scene was created in the Far Cry 5 map editor on PS4 and took 2 hours. If you’re interested in how it was put together, you can check out this short video I made where I take the scene apart piece by piece but in reverse to make myself look like a speed-building demon”

It’s always pleasing to see horror-inspired mods and creations in video games. Over the years games such as Minecraft, LittleBig Planet, and of course, Far Cry 5 have provided great tools with which to express that, and next year’s Dreams by LittleBig Planet developer Media Molecule could open up the door for even more horror homages with its mindblowing level of creative assets.

Far Cry 5 is out now on PS4, Xbox One, and PC.

[Video] Marvel Remembers the Epic Life and Legacy of Stan Lee With Beautiful Tribute Video

“Stan’s best creation… was always Stan.”

To imagine the world without Stan Lee and his many indelible creations is to imagine popular culture without *many* of its biggest icons and most enduring stories, and honestly it’s just kind of impossible. As the creator/co-creator of characters such as Spider-Man, Thor, Iron Man and the X-Men, Lee shaped pop culture into what it is today, and his influence across all forms of media is simply unlike any other. Legends like Stan Lee don’t ever truly die, and we’re taking a whole lot of comfort in that right now, in the wake of Lee’s passing yesterday.

The internet has been flooded with touching tributes to Stan Lee this week, and Marvel Entertainment pays tribute with their own official video today. You can check it out below.

The team writes on the Marvel website, “Marvel and the entire The Walt Disney Company salute the life and career of Stan Lee and offer their undying gratitude for his unmatchable accomplishments within their halls. Every time you open a Marvel comic, Stan will be there.”

New Trailer for Robert Rodriguez’s ALITA: BATTLE ANGEL Features Cyborgs in Combat

Directed by Robert Rodriguez and produced by James Cameron, Alita: Battle Angel is coming to theaters early next year from 20th Century Fox, and a new “battle ready” trailer offers a more in-depth look at the film’s eclectic supporting characters and futuristic cyborg action.

Directed by Robert Rodriguez, and based on the manga series Battle Angel Alita (aka Gunnm) by Yukito Kishiro, Alita: Battle Angel stars Rosa Salazar, Christoph Waltz, Jennifer Connelly, Mahershala Ali, Ed Skrein, Jackie Earle Haley, Keean Johnson, and Casper Van Dien. The adapted screenplay was written by Rodriguez, James Cameron, and Laeta Kalogridis. 20th Century Fox will release the film in theaters on February 14th, 2019.

Synopsis: “From visionary filmmakers James Cameron (AVATAR) and Robert Rodriguez (SIN CITY), comes ALITA: BATTLE ANGEL, an epic adventure of hope and empowerment. As Alita learns to navigate her new life and the treacherous streets of Iron City, Ido tries to shield her from her mysterious history while her street-smart new friend Hugo (Keean Johnson) offers instead to help trigger her memories. But it is only when the deadly and corrupt forces that run the city come after Alita that she discovers a clue to her past – she has unique fighting abilities that those in power will stop at nothing to control. If she can stay out of their grasp, she could be the key to saving her friends, her family and the world she’s grown to love.”

Video Digs into the Unmade ‘Hellraiser’ Remake Script Clive Barker Wrote a Few Years Back

As you may recall, Clive Barker was attached to remake Hellraiser back in 2014, and he actually did write a script that was delivered to Dimension Films. Instead of bringing that script to life, of course, Dimension made new sequel Hellraiser: Judgment, which needless to say didn’t do much to renew fan interest in what has long been a near-death franchise.

Clive Barker himself writing a remake of his own horror classic… now that’s an interesting approach, eh? So what would that iteration of a Hellraiser remake have been like, you may be wondering? In a new video over on YouTube, Mr. H Reviews digs into Barker’s unmade script, offering insights into Barker’s vision for a new take on his greatest creation.

It follows near to a T the first movie… up until a point where it would then segue off and become something somewhat new… different… and worthy of the investment of time from the audience,” Mr. H begins his recap of the script, before laying out the entire plot in detail.

If you’ve never read the script, allow Mr. H to do all the work for ya…

‘High Voltage’ Clips Get Electrified; New Imagery

David Arquette returns to the horror genre once again. The star of Wes Craven’s Scream franchise, as well as Bone Tomahawk, The Cottage, The Tripper (which he also directed) and Eight Legged Freaks, is featured in Alex Keledjian’s upcoming High Voltage.

Arriving on DVD and VOD November 20th, Bloody Disgusting has a pair of clips and a handful of stills from the film in which:

A struggling rock band led by washed-out rock star Jimmy Kleen (Arquette) strikes a deal with a cynical record executive (Luke Wilson). Things take a turn when the band’s lead singer Rachel (Allie Gonino) and her controlling stage mother Barb (Perrey Reeves) are struck by lightning and killed.

Rachel is brought back to life, but now lightning courses through her veins and she uses her new powers to drain the life from men and turn it into electrifying stage performances. Her bandmates discover her secret and must decide how far are they are willing to let her go to help them succeed.”

In one clip, Arquette walks through some big band decisions in history, discussing Nirvana’s wardrobe choice and the Beatles bowing after every show, while the second shows the lead with electrifying results…

Watch This ‘Red Dead Redemption 2’ Supercut of Violence Set to the Tune of…the Can-Can?

Red Dead Redemption 2 is storming the sales charts and has gained an insanely high amount of praise from critics (even if it’s been a rather more mixed affair for fans) and it’s high profile presence means there’s plenty of material wrung out of it in the forms of video clips, memes, and more.

One such example is J3unny’s supercut of protagonist Arthur Morgan punching, shooting, drinking, and dancing his way through the Old West with Jacques Offenbach’s “Infernal Galop” (aka the Can-Can song) played over the footage.

Very minor spoilers ahead for Red Dead Redemption 2.

It’s an entertaining two-minute showcase, and it’s also probably the quickest many Red Dead Redemption 2 players have seen the game move.

Red Dead Redemption 2 is out now on PS4 and Xbox One. Musical numbers optional.

Photos and Preview Videos from THE WALKING DEAD Episode 9.07, Directed by Michael Cudlitz

After introducing viewers to “A New Beginning” years after the shocking events of Rick Grimes’ last episode on The Walking Dead, Michonne leads a group of new faces to the Hilltop in next week’s episode, titled “Stradivarius,” which is directed by former cast member Michael Cudlitz (aka Abraham).

The Walking Dead Episode 9.07 – “Stradivarius”: “Carol seeks out an old friend living alone in a wilderness teeming with walkers; survivors make the perilous trek to a new home.”

“Stradivarius” premieres on Sunday, November 18th at 9:00pm ET on AMC. Keep an eye out for more updates on The Walking Dead right here on Daily Dead, and check here for our previous season 9 coverage.

The Walking Dead Season 9 synopsis: “Last season brought the culmination of “All Out War,” which pitted Rick Grimes and his group of survivors against the Saviors and their cunning leader, Negan. With Negan’s life in his hands, Rick had a character-defining choice in front of him. By making the unilateral decision to spare Negan, Rick upheld the values his late son, Carl, championed in order to build for the future, but created conflict within his group.

Now, we see our survivors a year and a half after the end of the war, rebuilding civilization under Rick’s steadfast leadership. It is a time of relative peace among the communities as they work together, looking to the past to forge the future, but the world they knew is rapidly changing as man-made structures continue to degrade, and nature takes over, changing the landscape and creating new challenges for our survivors.

As time passes, the communities confront unexpected obstacles, danger, and of course, walkers, but nothing quite prepares them for the formidable force they are about to encounter, which threatens the very idea of civilization that our survivors have worked so hard to build.

Based on the comic book series written by Robert Kirkman and published by Image Comics, “The Walking Dead” reigns the number one drama on television among adults 18-49 for the last six seasons. The series is executive produced by chief content officer Scott M. Gimple, showrunner Angela Kang, Robert Kirkman, Gale Anne Hurd, David Alpert, Greg Nicotero, Tom Luse and Denise Huth.”
